WEDDING VOW SAMPLE
I promise to love you forever,
Till the day our world stops turning.
The love I feel within my heart,
A flame eternally burning.
From this day on I’ll cherish you,
Protect you, keep you near.
I’ll kiss away your worries,
Allay your every fear.
I bless the day I found you,
When you walked into my life.
Something told us even then,
We’d become man and wife.
I pledge my love to you,
I will never take a breath,
Without drawing another one for you,
Forever until death.
So, take my hand in yours my love,
Don’t ever pull away.
May our love remain just as it is,
On this, our Wedding day.

Well, you made it Darling Daughter,
To your Graduation Day.
We’re all so proud of you Joanne.
More than we can say.
The last four years of study,
The endless cramming hours,
The constant strong black coffee,
The walks, the snacks, the showers.
We’ll miss the pile of books,
Strewn across the floor.
The weeks and months of worry,
Have gone for ever more.
With degrees in French and History,
You can hold your head up tall.
Well done Joanne, we love you,
From your family, one and all.

Welcome Baby James.
A tiny bundle of joy,
Born on your Daddy’s birthday,
Our perfect little boy.
We wish for your future,
That love always follows you
May your life be filled with joy,
In everything you do.
FOR MY WIFE, FIONA
ON THIS OUR WEDDING DAY.
1ST MAY, 2017
So here we are at last. Today’s our wedding Day.
On the happiest day of my life, I have some words to say……
I treasure the day I found you,
When you walked into my life
I’m so happy you said “Yes” and agreed to be my wife…….
SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 (PUBLISHED ITEM)
Oh, wretched day of destruction, you dawned on Manhattan sky,
Unaware of pending disaster, unaware of thousands who’d die.
Oblivious in your innocence. A day like any before,
Unknowing that the hand of evil, was to knock on America’s door.
Oh, September Day, how could you know, that the evil about to unfurl,
Would etch you in the memory, of the history of the world,
As the day that took our freedom, our communal piece of mind,
The lives of countless families, the stability of all mankind.
11th September 2001, bathed in needless fatality
Leaving havoc in your wake, cloaked in unreality.
But days too, grow old, and as we watch you die,
A bright and brave new dawn, fills Manhattan sky.
And time will heal and peace will return,
When they come to write your story.
May Heaven wrap you in worldwide love,
Brave land of Hope & Glory.

FATHER OF THE BRIDE
When Susan was a tiny girl, her favourite bedtime story was Cinderella. All those years later and today Susan IS that fairy tale princess, who has just captured her prince charming. John assures me that his trusty white steed is securely tied up in the car park!
…. Then there was the time when Geoff and I robbed the local orchard. Let’s just say that due to the amount of apples consumed and how sick we were, Geoff has made sure that apple tart is off the menu today!
ELDEST SON AT THE WEDDING OF HIS SISTER
I will conclude by saying that we considered giving advice to Louise and George. Instead, we, the entire family have decided to visit the couple every other day and George’s family can visit every second day!
….. And, so to conclude. What better way to toast this beautiful Irish bride and her handsome English husband, than bestowing them with an old Irish Blessing:
“May you have warm words on a cold evening.
A full moon on a dark night,
And the road downhill all the way to your door.”
MOTHER OF BRIDE
When Rachel came home two years ago and said she had met the man of her dreams, we had no idea how true that statement would turn out to be. David is a decent, caring person and I have no hesitation in handing over my beautiful, only daughter, into his care.
